HOW IT HELPS
This medicine is antitussive.
It is used to relieve a persistent, unproductive cough.
BEFORE USE
History of allergy to any of the ingredients, cough in asthmatics, respiratory insufficiency, breastfeeding. Do not use this product in combination with alcohol.
Medication interactions:
This medicine contains the cough medicine codeine.
Other medicines may contain this or another cough medicine. Do not take more than the maximum recommended dose.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Do not use the medicine for a wet cough. In such cases, coughing is a natural defence mechanism necessary to clear bronchial secretions. If the cough becomes oily or is followed by congestion, sputum or fever, you should seek advice from your doctor or health care professional. Medical advice is essential if you have chronic (long-term) bronchial or lung disease accompanied by coughing and sputum production. TELL YOUR DOCTOR if you have long-term liver disease. It is advisable not to combine this medicine with a medicine that thins bronchial secretions (expectorant, mucolytic).
This medicine should only be used during pregnancy if necessary.
Drivers and machine operators may experience drowsiness. This effect is increased by the intake of alcoholic beverages. It is advisable to start treatment in the evening.
May cause:
Constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting.
Rare: difficulty in breathing, skin reactions.
HOW TO USE
For adults only. If you do not feel you are getting the desired effect, do not increase the dose beyond the recommended level, do not take this medicine with another cough suppressant.
– For adults: 1 tablet per dose, repeated after 6 hours if necessary, not to exceed 4 doses per day.
-Halve the recommended adult dose in the elderly or in patients with hepatic insufficiency.
Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water.
The tablets should be taken at least 6 hours apart.
The course of treatment should be short (a few days).
