What is Celecoxib 200mg (Celeheal 200)?
This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), specifically a COX-2 inhibitor, which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). It is used to treat arthritis, acute pain, and menstrual pain and discomfort.
The pain and swelling relief provided by this medication helps you perform more of your normal daily activities. If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain.
This drug works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain and swelling.
How to take Celecoxib 200mg (Celeheal 200)?
Please make sure you read the enclosed leaflet carefully before taking Celebrex and celecoxib tablets. For adults, the recommended dose is as follows:
- Celebrex or celecoxib 200mg – take one capsule daily
You should not exceed more than 200mg per day.
The risk of side effects associated with heart problems may increase with the dose and duration of use. It is, therefore, important that you use the lowest dose that controls your pain. You should not take Celebrex for longer than is necessary to control the symptoms. Celebrex should be swallowed whole with a drink of water. The capsules can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. However, try to take each dose of Celebrex at the same time every day. Contact your doctor within two weeks of starting treatment if you do not feel any benefits.
Celebrex and celecoxib can be harmful to the stomach – especially if you are at a higher risk of stomach side effects– so we recommend that you also take another medicine to protect the stomach while you are taking this treatment. These can include Omeprazole 20mg Capsules or Zoton FasTab 30mg Tablets (lansoprazole) and should be taken once a day. People at a higher risk of stomach side effects include those who:
- Heavily smoke or drink
- Are aged 65 and over
- Are already taking ibuprofen at the maximum recommended dose Live with other medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and liver or kidney complaints
- Have a history of stomach problems
